Photo property of Old York Baseball. NORTH YORK NINE WINS CITY CHAMPIONSHIP IN 1909 The Keystone Athletics lost to North York 8 to 6 in late September 1909. North York earned the undisputed city title according to a York Dispatch story. “It was one of the fiercest fought battles in amateur ranks of the season, principally because it was the deciding game of the ‘big’ title.” North York also defeated Spring Grove to earn the county title.
